Danny Rohl is currently in charge of Sheffield Wednesday and has been linked with the vacant managerial posts Sheffield Wednesday's manager, Danny Rohl, is attracting attention from Southampton and RB Leipzig, according to reports. The 35-year-old has connections with both clubs, having kick-started his coaching career at Leipzig before serving as Ralph Hasenhuttl's assistant at Southampton. Rohl also collaborated closely with Hansi Flick during his tenure at Bayern Munich and the German national team, before taking up his first managerial role with Wednesday in October 2023.

His impressive performance at Hillsborough has led to links with several other positions across Europe. The Telegraph suggests that Southampton have placed Rohl at the top of their list of potential replacements for Ivan Juric, who was dismissed following the club's Premier League relegation. Meanwhile, Sky Sports Germany reports that Leipzig are also contemplating a move for Rohl after Marco Rose's dismissal last month.

Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp , now Red Bull's head of global soccer, is playing a crucial role in their search for Rose's successor. Zsolt Low, Thomas Tuchel's former assistant, is currently holding the reins on an interim basis, but Rohl has reportedly 'impressed Leipzig's decision-makers.' The report indicates that Klopp, Leipzig's managing director for sport Marcel Schafer, and Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff, 'greatly value Rohl's footballing ideas'.

However, Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and ex-Bayer Leverkusen manager Roger Schmidt are also being considered. After being questioned about his future at Wednesday, Rohl told the Star: "At the moment it is not the time to speak about my future. The club knows my thoughts, they know where we are, what I want to do in the future.

And this is the most important thing." Despite previous rumours suggesting a potential switch to Southampton after Russell Martin's dismissal last December, with Juric eventually landing the role, Rohl expressed to BBC Radio Sheffield in March that gossip doesn't sway him. "I must say all the rumours and topics around don't influence me," he said.

"My main part is here and the next game with my group. We didn't win in the last games and our responsibility is to get us back on track. "There's no problem for me because I'm not listening to left and right, my focus is here.

I know my responsibility for my group and the club, that's what is important at the moment, not some headlines." Despite Wednesday's position at 13th in the Championship , trailing eight points from the play-offs after a trio of winless matches, Rohl lauded his team's resilience, particularly following their 1-0 loss against Hull. "It's hard but the key message for me is that this team has big, big character and big, big belief," Rohl stated.

"A lot of players take all the setbacks again and again and it makes me very proud. The motivation comes from the inner circle, there's no question mark. The emotional level was there - they want to fight, they want to go and do everything, but you can understand what it means for this group.

"It makes no sense to speak about the play-offs. We should be honest, and we're not ready for the play-offs. We did an outstanding job and felt we were always close, but in the second half of the season in all these tight games, we could have won maybe six home games, but we didn't.
