Junior Pan Am cyclists praised, encouraged

” Elisha Greene, coach of Trinidad and Tobago’s Junior Pan American track cycling team made the statement at Piarco International Airport in the early hours of Tuesday morning when the successful TTO contingent returned from the Junior Pan Am Cycling Championships in Lima, Peru. The squad of Jelani Nedd, Syndel Samaroo, Danell James and Makaira Wallace bagged eight medals between them—four silver and four bronze. The group was greeted at the VIP Lounge by a contingent from the Trinidad and Tobago Cycling Federation (TTCF), family members, and representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Community Development and the Sports Company of Trinidad and Tobago (SporTT).



Speaking on behalf of the Federation, vice-president Linton John said, “We maintain as a Federation that what we do is to try our best to ensure that when we go out there, we represent our country to the fullest. So, we welcome you back home today. We are really proud of what you did for (Trinidad and Tobago) this time around.

Congratulations. “It’s a long time we didn’t have this number of medals, so we really, truly appreciate you all this time around and we really hope that you will continue to advance and to carry the sport in such a way that we will have more people doing their best (performances).” And the Ministry’s Director, Physical Education and Sport, Ga.
