Junior hockey: Mason City rumbles past WarHawks

Toros get goals from 6 players in 8-1 NA3HL win at Willmar

WILLMAR — Six skaters netted at least one goal in Mason City’s convincing 8-1 victory against the Willmar WarHawks in an NA3HL game on Friday night. Marcus Fritel and Kellen Kantaris each potted a pair of goals and tallied an assist to help the Toros improve their record to 5-5-1-1 in the West Division. Willmar is 4-5-0-0 in divisional play.

Mason Wanka was the WarHawks’ lone goal scorer. The forward from Rogers scored his team-leading seventh goal of the season in the third period. Nathan Hinze notched his team-best ninth assist in as many games on Wanka’s tally.



He is a forward from Chaska. Willmar plays the Granite City Lumberjacks in another NA3HL West Division matchup at 7:30 p.m.
