Julianne Moore brought a little color to event in Los Angles tonight, held in partnership with Ralph Lauren, Harry Winston, and TikTok. The honoree stepped out dressed in a red long-sleeve gown, accessorizing with diamond jewelry. She posed on the carpet on her own.
Both Moore and her co-star Tilda Swinton spoke to about the themes of their new film. In it, Swinton is Martha, a war correspondent with stage 3 cancer, while Moore plays her friend Ingrid, who confronts her own fear of death to support Martha. The story hit home for Moore, as “a friend of mine died the other day.
She’s our age and was diagnosed with a brain tumor,” she shared. “I said to Tilda, ‘I can’t believe this happened, we literally just made a movie about this.’ So I think the movie is urgent and interesting and human, because this is it.
This is what we face, and pretending that we’re not going to die is not going to do us any good. Martha says, ‘Yes, it’s hard, but I can take it.’ It’s an important part about being a human being.
” As for her own future in Hollywood, Moore is open. “I just try to follow my interests, and in doing that I’ve been able to carve out the kind of career that I have. Goals are impossible to keep! I can’t control all of it.
