JUDY ANN SANTOS – The “Queen Of Teleserye” prefers to have this instead as her movie becomes an official entry of MMFF 2024. “Espantaho” is an official entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival this year starring Judy Ann Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Eugene Domingo, Janice de Belen, JC Santos, Mon Confiado, and Chanda Romero. This is directed by Chito Roño in the horror genre.

Every year, this film festival is one of the most-anticipated events that happen annually starting on Christmas Day and going through until the New Year. For Judy Ann who is used to doing drama, doing horror is physically demanding. She started doing drama and then later on discovered that she could do comedy Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo [2006] and Saka, Sakali, Saklolo [2007] and now, she did horror.

“Eto, sa tagal na nagpapahinga ako sa pagawa ng horror films, nanibago talaga ako. Yung physically, may mga kailangan akong araling galaw. May kailangan akong ibalik na emosyon.

Yung mga past pains na ayoko na sanang balikan, kailangan ko siyang balikan uli,” she shared. ACTING AWARD VS BOX-OFFICE HIT Which does she prefer? According to her, if an award could be translated to box office earnings, why not, but for now, if she is to choose between the two, she’d rather pick for their film to be a box office hit. They wanted their film to earn.

One cannot say no to having an award but for their film to receive positive feedback and all is matters more. She wanted their film to leave a scary impression on people and hear them say, ‘Ay bakla, nakakatakot! Ay bakla, ang ganda-ganda, atsutsutsutsu.’ Since it is directed by the successful horror film director who made Patayin Sa Sindak Si Barbara (1995), Feng Shui (2004), and Sukob (2008), they wanted to achieve the same success or even more.

Meanwhile, apart from Expantaho, here are the other official entries of the MMFF 2024 : What can you say about this? Let us know in the comments!.
