Josie Gibson has finally shed light on her recent absence from This Morning amid concerns for her show future. The 39-year-old presenter returned to our screens this week with her Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide with Josie Gibson show, and now she's confirmed that we'll be seeing more of her in the weeks to come. While away from This Morning, Josie has been busy filming for her brand new Channel 5 show First Class Travel, as well as another programme exploring food from the 1970s.
"I've been filming a show about the 1970s, that is again for Channel 5," she revealed. "It's not like a diet show, but like an investigative [one], like how they were eating in the 1970s." Giving a brief insight into the food she sampled for the series, she added: "It was bl***y awful.
" While the title or release date for Josie's new show hasn't been confirmed as of yet, her travel series is set to air on Channel 5 in January. Before then, the mother-of-one confirmed she will be back on This Morning with her "family" before the year ends. "I went back to interview Cher the other day, and then I'm going back to London this weekend to do a bus ride [to see the Christmas lights] around London and do all the adventures [with her son Reggie]," she shared.
"I'll be on [This Morning] next week, I don't know if I'm meant to say but I've said it now, with Dermot O'Leary, and yeah let's see what the new year brings." Commenting on her busy schedule, she added: "I'm having a really good time doing it and what I've got to try and remember is it's so busy, but you've just to got to enjoy the moment that you're in." Away from her TV duties, Josie has partnered with First Bus to highlight the importance of bus travel in fostering community connections.
A new study found that almost three in 10 British people have made lasting friendships through encounters on public buses. Josie recently experienced this herself during a recent bus trip in her home town, where she interacted with local champions contributing remarkably to their communities. "I got to listen to all their stories and everything they've been up to.
And these people, I'm not joking, they have given up their time which is your biggest currency, their energy, to do incredible stuff," she disclosed. Josie holds a particular fondness for the bus network as without it, reaching her past work locations would have been a struggle. "First Bus has played such an integral part in my life and such an integral part in everybody else's lives," she added.
"It was just a lovely thing to get involved in. And without the bus routes, I realised, I would have never ever have got to my jobs. "I did jobs with quite a lot of communicating so I used to sell home insurance and car insurance, I don't know whether I'd be where I am now [without them].
It's really weird, it can have a knock-on effect to wherever you are.".
