New York Knicks veteran guard Josh Hart predicts the young Detroit Pistons team are in for a surprise in the playoffs. For the first time since the 2018-19 NBA season, the Detroit Pistons will return to the playoffs behind an incredible 2024-25 campaign. Even though the Pistons’ playoff drought is over, the job is far from over for Cade Cunningham and Co.

After all, they are all set to face off against the New York Knicks in the opening round of the postseason. Moreover, it feels like the Knicks are more than happy to take on the young and ‘wild’ Pistons team, as veteran guard Josh Hart made a huge prediction about their opponents. Josh Hart is ‘curious’ to see Detroit Pistons in the playoffs Considering the NY Knicks are the third seed in the East, they will take on the Pistons, who will likely finish as the sixth seed.

Prior to the matchup being confirmed, Hart made a ‘curious’ comment about the Pistons via The Bench Seat podcast. “Detroit’s good bro, I’m so curious to see them in the playoffs, because, it might be us. Playoffs.

.. the game, is a different game,” Hart said of the Pistons.

“But this is why I think it might benefit Detroit, because they are so young, and reckless and wild, they are going to be so naive to the fact this is the playoffs and this is a different game,” he added. The Pistons have one of the youngest rosters in the league. While they have tremendous energy , it also means a lack of experience in the playoffs, which could have a devastating impact on their hopes of a deep run.

Hart on Pistons: ‘They gonna be so naive...

’ Every team in the league plays a different brand of basketball. For the Pistons, it’s about having fun and playing freely on the hardwood . Hart thinks there is nothing wrong with that, but teams could exploit this come playoff time.

“This isn’t game 52 in an 82-game season. Keep that in. They gonna be so naive, they gonna go out there and hoop freely, and that’s the beauty of it,” Hart continued.

“Sometimes there’s a little bit of beauty of the ignorance of that situation,” the 30-year-old concluded. As things stand right now, Hart will soon get an opportunity to prove his point correct against the Pistons. On the other hand, Hart’s comments about the Pistons’ culture being ‘naive’ could lead to the team turning things up a notch in the playoffs and prove the Knicks veteran wrong.
