A woman climber from Switzerland has become the first female international mountain guide to complete all 14 peaks above 8,000m. According to Thaneswar Guragai, General Manager at Seven Summit Treks, Josette Valloton, a certified IFMGA guide, successfully scaled the true summit of Mt Manaslu this morning becoming the part of SST expedition. "Valloton completed all 14 peaks and became the first female international mountain guide to do so," Guragai said.

According to reports, the unsung alpine warrior Valloton's story is a narrative of resilience and breaking barriers in an era dominated by male climbers. Her significant ascents in the Alps during the 1950s and 1960s, including challenging routes in the Mont Blanc massif, were groundbreaking. Valloton's achievements not only challenged gender norms in mountaineering but also paved the way for future generations of female alpinists, inspiring them to reach new heights.
