Jordan Love Received a Questionable Designation for Sunday’s Game Against the Indianapolis Colts

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love, who injured his left knee with a sprained MCL in Week 1, is listed as questionable for the upcoming game against the Indianapolis Colts. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed that Love has not been medically cleared to play yet. Backup Malik Willis may step in if needed.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love , who suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee during Week 1, was not expected to play in Week 2. However, he received a "questionable" designation for Sunday's home game against the Indianapolis Colts , and Packers coach Matt LaFleur stated that Love has not yet been medically cleared to play. Love played college football for Utah State Aggies and was named to the second-team All-MWC in 2018.

After forgoing his senior year, he was drafted by the Packers in the 2020 NFL draft. He served as backup to Aaron Rodgers for three years before being named starting quarterback for the 2023 season. Love led the Packers to a playoff victory and signed a four-year contract extension worth $220 million for the 2024 season.

The injury forced Green Bay to rely on Malik Willis for the final two snaps.

Further examination revealed an MCL spain, indicating the Packers may not be without Love for long. Willis, with only three career starts, is preparing for a potential Week 2 start. With Love listed as questionable, the Packers may not need Willis on Sunday, but the designation remains uncertain.

Love signed a new four-year, $220 million extension with the Packers in July 2024. At the time of the signing, he had the highest average annual value, coming out at $55 million a year. The deal called for a $75 million signing bonus and was worth $155 million in guaranteed cash.

The 2024 NFL season opener for the Packers came against the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paulo, Brazil-the first-ever game on Brazilian soil by an NFL team. In the final minutes of the game, Love suffered an MCL sprain that would likely keep him out for at least the next three games.
