Like his expertise in disposing of Anthony so cleanly – or so he says.Like the fact he never talks about his army past and has only given a tiny insight into who Aidan might have been, despite having clung onto his dog tags for years. All a bit sus, and the longer he spends with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), the closer he comes to having his entire truth exposed.

Aaron suggests they use Chas’ wedding booking but is surprised when John flat refuses. He’s furious not to have been consulted and Aaron is left perplexed when he storms out.John later backtracks on his reaction and apologies, surprising Aaron by opening up about the relationship and explaining he has a bit of an issue with needing to be in control.

Victoria Sugden is intrigued (Picture: ITV)John Sugden raises some red flags (Picture: ITV)Aaron is glad that he’s being so open, and they manage to get back on track. But Aaron is missing some major red flags here and John isn’t even trying to hide them. Then comes another awkward conversation when Aaron asks who he’ll be inviting to the wedding.

Precious few, it would seem, and John is left feeling awkward to explain why he has so few family and friends.
