Today's weather is certainly that of a dagger.

FARGO — "Beware the Ides of March!" quoth the soothsayer to Julius Caesar in Shakespeare's play. And rightfully so. Today's weather is certainly that of a dagger, as it often is on this date and others in the middle of March.

Although the average high in Fargo over the most recent three decades is 38 degrees, it is just 33 degrees over the entire period of record since 1881. Fifty-one percent of the March 15 days since 1881 have delivered a high temperature above freezing with 49% below.About two-thirds of the March 15 days since the reputable snow depth record began in 1942 have had measurable snow on the ground; only about a third have dawned with bare ground showing.

It is a day looking to the south, wearing short pants and sunglasses, and standing in a drift of partially melted snow, while complaining about the cold and windy weather.]]>.
