John Gerardi OBITUARY John Gerardi, 81, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2024. John was born at the Day-Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT on November 4, 1942 to the late Ernest J. Gerardi and Jennie (Ukleja) Gerardi.

John was a proud Veteran serving in the US Air Force for 4 years, 2.5 years Far East and 1 year Vietnam. He proudly carried the American flag for Wethersfield VFW color guard for many years.

The Color guard won many honors across the state working with the Colonel Chester Fife and Drum Corps. He studied Chinese at Yale’s Institute of Far Eastern Languages (IFEL). John was a realtor for over 25 years.

John loved playing cribbage, Texas holdem and shooting pool with family and friends. In his later years, he was involved in a weekly Poker Group, always looking forward to the Friday competitions. John was a former club champion of Beaver Point Golf Club.

John loved his family, he was very grateful for the care his son, Damian, and significant other of 25 years, Mary, provided for him. He would say, “No way I could have managed without these two guardian angels.” Above all John loved nothing more than spending time with his granddaughters whether it be in the swimming pool, playing games, attending gymnastic meets, soccer games or just watching an episode of the pink panther.

John leaves behind his son Damian with his wife Christine and their two daughters Gabrielle and Grace of Wethersfield, CT; Sister Barbara Foley and her two daughters Beth Foley and Lynn Foley (her two sons Zachary Brochu and Samuel Brochu and his wife Kelsey Bullock) of Rutland, Vermont; Sister Katherine Shields and her husband Bob Shields and their daughter Alyssa Gallicchio and her husband Ryan Gallicchio and their two daughters Giadda and Aria of Newington, CT; His significant other and best friend Mary Tigno, her son Mark Tigno, her daughter Liz Nardella and her three children Hannah, Justin and Caitlin (and her daughter Ariella) of Wethersfield, CT; as well as extended family and friends. John was pre-deceased by his brother-in-law William Foley. A special Thank You from our entire family to Dina and everyone at the Hartford HealthCare Hospice at Home team who helped us through this journey.

Family and friends are invited to the BROOKLAWN Funeral Home, 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, CT 06067, on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 2-4p.m.
