John Bishop says 'meet Carla' as fans 'love it'

John has shared an adorable video to Instagram John Bishop has shared an insight into his personal life at home with his family. The comedian has over one million followers on Instagram and often keeps fans updated with his life on and off stage. Taking to Instagram yesterday, John uploaded a video holding a chicken.

He said: "Right this is Carla, now, we've got loads of chickens and they don't all have names. "Carla has got a name and Melanie has just reminded me where she come from. We used to have a cockerel, we don't anymore, and the cockerel was called Carlos and she [Carla] was hatched from an egg, obviously fertilised by Carlos.



This we hatched in a converted Budweiser fridge." John added that Carla will be reaching the age of eight soon, and told followers "how cool is that?" The caption on the Instagram post read " Meet Carla..

." Fans of the comedian commented on the latest post, one fan wrote "so sweet to have a special chicken like this" and a second added "She’s lovely and obviously enjoying the attention. Thank you for being kind to animals.

" Another follower posted "You're awesome John - thanks for doing what you do for the voiceless." Further replies were "What a beauty Carla is" and "Absolutely love this. Carla is so special.

" The 58-year-old is married to wife, Melanie . The two have been married since 1993 and have three sons together, Joe, Daniel and Luke. Although they separated for 18 months in 2000, they rekindled their relationship.

Until 2019, they lived at Whatcroft Hall in Cheshire, a Grade II listed Georgian mansion. In April 2019, he sold the home for £6.2m to the HS2 rail project and moved to West Sussex with his family.

His love for his family and his animals is something the Liverpool fan has been vocal about. He has been a vegetarian since 1985. This is something which John discussed on BBC Two's Something for The Weekend and his episode on food on his stand-up show John Bishop's Britain.

In January, John shared a heartfelt message for his wife as they celebrated their wedding anniversary. He said: "When you are into your fourth decade with someone and life means that you spend big chunks of time apart, it is sometimes difficult to find the time and place to reconnect properly. "Spending the last two weeks in a unique hotel that had no tv, no fourth wall and not even a lift despite it being over 500 steps to the beach has been exactly what I and @melbish1 needed.

" The 58-year-old says he and Melanie are "lucky" to be able to travel and they are "blessed" to keep finding each other when they look. He said "still the one", as fans sent messages of love and support following the personal update. John been enjoying his comedy tour in recent months.
