The Philadelphia 76ers are off to a rough start this season, and it has caused some friction in the locker room. The Sixers recently held a team meeting where their star player, Joel Embiid, was called out by teammate and friend Tyrese Maxey. Embiid has since responded to the reports of the team meeting, which was not pretty.

When asked about the meeting, Embiid said that the anonymous person who leaked that info is a "real piece of [expletive]." He went on to say that it is annoying to deal with the same things over and over. One of the things that was addressed during the Sixers' team meeting was Embiid's tardiness.

Maxey "challenged" Embiid to be on time for activities and said his actions impact the locker room. The meeting took place after the Sixers lost 106-89 to the Miami Heat. Their veteran point guard Kyle Lowry called for the meeting in what the anonymous source said was a much-needed heart-to-heart and a call to action and urgency.

Maxey went on to address Embiid, whom he is said to have a close friendship with. They also have a history of holding each other accountable. After his blunt response to the report, Embiid did take accountability for his actions.

"I need to be better. I need to be perfect, I need to be on point, which I'm going to do," Embiid shared. Things have not been easy for Embiid and the Sixers.

The center was in a controversial situation after shoving a reporter after their piece mentioned Embiid's son as well as his late brother. Philadelphia is 2-12 and has the worst record in the league. They are on a five-game losing streak and are looking to snap that streak with a win over the Brooklyn Nets.
