Joe Rogan explained why he finally decided to host Donald Trump on his podcast after previously saying he would not interview the former president. The UFC commentator welcomed Trump onto his ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast on Friday. The eagerly-anticipated interview came after Rogan made a U-turn on his initial stance.

Rogan had previously stated he had little interest in bringing Trump onto the show , saying: "I'm not a Trump supporter in any way, shape, or form. “I've had the opportunity to have him on my show more than once - I've said no every time. I don't want to help him.

I'm not interested in helping him." Rogan also added he believes Trump to be an “existential threat to democracy.” Donald Trump pictured with Joe Rogan after beating Kamala Harris to podcast spot Everything Joe Rogan has said about Donald Trump ahead of podcast However, Rogan revealed he wanted to interview Trump after the Republican candidate was shot in the ear in an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.

“Once they shot you I was like ‘he’s gotta come in here,’” Rogan said. “It’s all about timing, it’s all about the timing. I think the timing is perfect,” he added.

The topic of conversation soon turned to the wound Trump sustained when he was shot by gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks at the July 13 rally. Rogan asked the 78-year-old if he had a scar on his ear from the gunshot. “It zicked right there,” the presidential nominee said as he showed off the wound behind his right ear.

“It healed up pretty f–----- good,” Rogan replied. Talk then turned to the possibility of Rogan having Democrat candidate and vice-president Kamala Harris on the podcast. “Can you imagine Kamala doing this show? She’d be lying on the floor,” Trump quipped.

That was my goal having her on, trying to get her to express herself,” he said.

Trump later switched the conversation to their mutual friend, Elon Musk, who Rogan has interviewed. Musk has endorsed Trump publicly but Rogan is yet to put his backing behind either of the candidates, something that Trump attempted to change. “He gave me the nicest endorsement,” Trump said referring to Musk.

I know you.” “I have watched you for so many years. You’re not a Kamala person.
