January 22, 1930 - September 11, 2024 Joan (Tootie) S. (Shryock) Montgomery, 94, of Carlisle, Pa., passed away on September 11, 2024, in the Thornwald Nursing Home in Carlisle.
She was born January 22, 1930, in Cumberland, Maryland, to the late Claude and Mary (Messick) Campbell. She was the widow of R. Perry Shryock and Frank Montgomery.
Tootie was a graduate of Allegany High School and went to further her education at Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, Md.. She worked as a registered nurse for Memorial Hospital, Carlisle Hospital, and Holy Spirit Hospital until her retirement.
Tootie was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Carlisle Elks BPOE 578, and Range End Ladies Golf Association, where she enjoyed golfing, and a past member of the Carlisle Country Club Surviving are her children, Eric (Jane) Shryock of Carlisle, Karen (John) Cullinane of Doswell, Va., and Terri Shirey of Mercersburg, Pa.; and cousins, Mary Jo Elder and Judy Brodbeck.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Thornwald Nursing Home, Christian Companion Senior Care, and Residential Hospice for their excellent care.
