Jimmies baseball splits doubleheader at Dickinson State

The Jimmies had seven hits in the second game of the doubleheader.

DICKINSON, N.D. — The University of Jamestown baseball team blew a late lead to lose 3-2 at Dickinson State University on Friday, Oct.

4, at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Ballpark. The Jimmies opened the scoring in the third thanks to an Alex Alva RBI single before adding another one in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead. The Blue Hawks loaded the bases in the fifth inning and brought home a run on a balk to cut their deficit down to 2-1.



ADVERTISEMENT The Blue Hawks’ Cameron Erickson delivered for his team in the sixth with a two-run double to give his team a 3-2 lead. On the mound, the Jimmies starter was Avery Liestman who went 5.1 giving up three runs on five hits while walking two and striking out four hitters.
