The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) Thursday condemned the recent attacks on Bokkos and Bassa local government areas of Plateau state, urging the federal and state governments to take proactive steps to nip in the bud early signals that could lead to crisis. National chairman of JIBWIS, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, made the condemnation during a media chat at his residence in Jos. He also condemned the rising cases of Sara Suka, which have led to the killing of people within Jos.

“I have heard what happened in Bokkos and Bassa LGAs, and also the activities of Yan Sara Suka in some communities within Jos. I pray that Allah brings an end to these unfortunate incidents. May we not witness them again,” he prayed.

Sheikh Jingir reminded both farmers and herders of the importance of mutual coexistence for the success of their respective farming and herding ventures, urging them to always embrace the path of peace and amicable resolution of problems that might arise between them. “If you are a herder, don’t let your cows destroy farm produce; if you are a farmer, don’t poison herders’ cows. Let us all embrace one another to live in peace,” he pleaded.
