Netflix is dialling up the adrenaline with its upcoming action-packed thriller Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins, and the newly released trailer has set pulses racing. Streaming from April 25, the stylish, high-stakes heist drama features Saif Ali Khan in the role of a suave thief entangled in a deadly game of deception, romance, and revenge.
Set in a world where nothing is as it seems, Jewel Thief – The Heist Begins stars Saif Ali Khan as Rehan Roy — a master thief with charm to spare and a plan that’s anything but simple. Opposite him is Jaideep Ahlawat, who plays the cold and calculating mafia boss Rajan Aulakh. Kunal Kapoor steps into the shoes of Vikram Patel, a dogged detective on Roy’s trail, while Nikita Dutta plays Farah, a mysterious woman who may have stolen Rehan’s heart — but perhaps not his secrets.
As betrayals mount and motives twist, the central conflict revolves around the ultimate prize: the African Red Sun jewel. What follows is a breakneck chase filled with shifting loyalties, buried truths, and unexpected alliances. Produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under their banner Marflix Productions, the film marks the production house’s first-ever streaming venture — and their collaboration with Netflix kicks off with a bang.
Directed by Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal, the film is written by Sumit Aroraa and promises the scale and sleekness of a big-screen blockbuster. According to the makers, Jewel Thief aims to blend the classic charm of Bollywood heist films with a fresh, contemporary edge. Speaking about the project, producers Siddharth and Mamta Anand said, “With Jewel Thief, we wanted to create a cinematic universe that felt both classic and fresh — a modern-day heist with emotion and pace.
