Jets vs. 49ers live updates: Aaron Rodgers returns to the lineup on Monday Night Football after missing 2024 with an Achilles tear

For the second straight year, the New York Jets will open their season on Monday Night Football. And while they'd like to open with a win over a Super Bowl contender — like the team did last year in beating the Buffalo Bills — they'd prefer to do it with their future Hall of Fame quarterback playing more than just four plays. The Jets are in the Bay Area to take on the reigning NFC champion San Francisco 49ers and are hoping to finally get the Aaron Rodgers era started.

After tearing an Achilles' tendon in that first game last year, the Jets were saddled with poor quarterback play all season and finished 7-10.
