Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley will be inactive in Thursday night’s game against the Patriots, the team announced.

Mosley was listed as this week after exiting Sunday’s win against the Tennessee Titans with a toe injury. BUY JETS TICKETS: STUBHUB , VIVID SEATS , TICKETMASTER Mosley’s injury came on the Titans’ third drive of Sunday’s game. Mosley ran toward Tennessee running back Tony Pollard at the end of the play and did not make contact with anyone, but came up limping.

Before the next snap, he took a knee to take himself out of the game. Mosley then walked slowly to the sideline and spent several minutes in the medical tent before he gingerly walked to a cart and rode it back to the locker room. He later returned to the sideline where remained for the rest of the game.

Mosley wears the dot for the Jets, and head coach Robert Saleh said on Tuesday that linebacker Jamien Sherwood would step up in the veteran’s absence. “Full confidence in him to call the defense and make the checks that need to be made,” Saleh said. Sherwood played 66% of defensive snaps in 2023, and on Sunday against Tennessee, he recorded 12 tackles and one pass defended.
