JET2 is launching a new flight route from a tiny UK airport to a popular destination in the Channel Islands. Bournemouth residents will be able to reach Jersey with a direct flight this summer. But the connection will only run for the summer, with the last plane completing the trip on Saturday, September 29. The flight will run twice a week, with departures on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This addition brings the total number of Jet2 routes out of Bournemouth Airport to 22 - including six new routes.

The flight will be a very quick trip for passengers - perfect for a long weekend. Jet2, the UK's largest tour operator, will also be offering package holidays to the island.
Holidaymakers will be able to go for deals including a range of three to five-star accommodation options. Passengers taking the new flights this summer could have to contend with a major change to airport procedure , as boarding passes and check-ins are to be axed. It's thought the tech could be operational within the next couple of years, as reported by The Times.
