April 9, 1933 — October 16, 2024 FULLERTON — Jessie Anne Meyer, 91, of Fullerton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton with Pastor Sheri Lodel officiating. Burial will follow in the Fullerton Cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is serving the family. Jessie was born on April 9, 1933, to Harry and Lydia (Nickel) Sinsel on the family farm near Archer, Neb. She attended Archer High School, completing most of her education there before earning her GED in the early 1980s.
On September 30, 1950, she married William T. Meyer in Hastings, and together they built a life across various locations in Nebraska, as well as spending around five years in California. Throughout the years, Jessie worked as a licensed childcare provider, worked at Fullerton Public School in Nebraska and Rialto Middle School in California, and later worked at the Fullerton Senior Center.
In 1994, William and Jessie returned to Fullerton, where she lived until her passing. Jessie was a master cribbage player. She also enjoyed a variety of other card games and dominoes, along with her passion for reading.
As the family’s problem solver and teacher, she took immense pride in seeing all her children attend college. Jessie and William also shared a deep love for camping. Even though Jessie didn’t belong to a church, she had a strong faith in God and was baptized in the last month of her life.
She is survived by her children, William D. Meyer of Peyton, Colo., Diane (Tony) Rotunno of Raleigh, N.
C., Cathy (Mike) McConkey of Fullerton, and Sandy (Jerry) Christensen of Kearney; a daughter-in-law, Barb Meyer of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Leola (Dick) Harlow and Peggy Posey, both of Grand Island; sisters-in-law, Elaine Sinsel of Grand Island, Barb Meyer of Central City, and Joyce (Ray) McNeff of Palmer; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her two sons, David and Donald Meyer; husband, William; her parents; brothers, Roy, Cleon, Everett, Stanley, John, and Daniel; and sisters, Rose, Wanda, Helen, Elnora, and Virginia.
