As a proud Kuku Yalanji woman from the Northern Territory, Jessica grew up surrounded by the vast beauty and challenges of the Australian outdoors.

“Back then, we never really understood the impact the sun was having on our skin - but we do now!” she explains. “I have learnt that at its most fundamental level, true skincare starts with sun protection all year round , not just in summer - because UV never rests,” Her mission was to provide shoppers with a sun-safe solution that hydrates the skin with antioxidant-rich native Australian botanicals. And that’s exactly what she has done with Desert Rose’s first product: SPF 50+ Hydrating Face Serum, $48.

Always read the label and follow the directions for use. A lightweight, hydrating formula that is suitable for everyday wear, the SPF 50+ Hydrating Face Serum Kakadu Plum contains the hero ingredient: Kakadu Plum. “I wanted to harness the goodness of amazing native Australian botanicals like Kakadu Plum,” Jessica explains.

After all, it is the world’s most potent natural source of vitamin C and proven to significantly brighten the complexion. Complete with the refeshing scent Lemon Myrtle and Rose , the serum has a lightweight texture that blends easily into the skin. Desert Rose shares its name from the floral emblem of the Northern Territory where Jessica grew up.

“I was inspired by the resilient Desert Rose flower that thrives against adversity under the harsh Australian desert,” “3 years in the making. It’s been a long time coming,” she says. “We went through an intense sampling process to get the formula just right.

” Perfect under makeup or for fresh faced days, you can use the SPF as part of your daily skincare routine. Jessica recommends “On make-up free days you can just wash your face and apply it straight onto clean, dry skin as the single, all-in-one step in your skincare routine.” “It’s basically your serum, moisturiser and SPF, all in the one product ,” she notes.

As the first product to the Desert Rose line-up , the team work hard to ensure the formula was crafted to perfection. “I want to communicate the importance of suncare everyday, 365 days a year, because UV never takes a break! It’s our core belief,” she explains. But Jessica says there’s more to come.

“Yes, we have lots of other exciting new products in the works this year - watch this space!” To shop the SPF 50+ Hydrating Face Serum , head to Desert Rose. Always read the label and follow the directions for use..
