A Jeopardy! contestant might have been jinxed after Ken Jennings reminded them that they were possibly eligible for Tournament of Champions. Viewers thought it was a "bad omen"

Ken Jennings might have been the reason a contestant did not win. On the Friday, April 4 episode of Jeopardy! , GuyBranum, a writer and comedian from West Hollywood, California, and Mike Dawson, a technology manager from Portland, Oregon, faced the four time winning champion, Bryce Wargin , a post market surveillance coordinator from Kansas City, Missouri. Ken started the episode by reminding fans of Bryce's winning streak and could possibly be eligible for Tournament of Champions with one more win.

After the first commercial break, the host of the trivia game show asked Bryce who he would like to thank over his impressive streak. Bryce was very humble and thanked God and his family. Viewers at home believe Ken asking the question was bad luck and the reason why Bryce struggled so much and did not win.

A person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: "Ken jumping the gun on this guys TOC odds? #jeopardy ." Another person on Reddit wrote: "Bryce being told he'd probably be in the postseason, so "who would you like to thank?"seemed like a bad omem for him." Bryce replied to the subreddit and explained why he chose that question.

He wrote: "I chose it, because as I reflected on why I do so well at Jeopardy, I realized that very little of it was myself." The four time winner continued: "A huge part of it is the way God made me - the high intelligence, the ability to absorb information quickly, the quick recall, and the quick buzzer reflexes. And then a big part of it was the educational opportunities that my parents afforded to me, opportunities my father promised to his future children when he was a teenager in foster care.

" He concluded: " Such a small part was the amount that I pressed myself to learn. And so it seemed proper to give thanks to those who deserved it. I was really excited for the other 4 stories on my card!" DAILY NEWSLETTER: Sign up here to get the latest news and updates from the Mirror US straight to your inbox with our FREE newsletter.
