Jentayu’s OHP inks PPA with Sabah Electricity

KUALA LUMPUR: Oriole Hydro Padas Sdn Bhd (OHP), a 70% subsidiary of Jentayu Sustainables Bhd (JSB), has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd for its 162MW run-of-river hydropower development, Project Oriole. Located in Hulu Sungai Padas, Sipitang, the RM2.8bil project is one of the largest renewable energy initiatives in Sabah and is expected to contribute significantly to the Sabah Renewable Energy Roadmap.

It will supply an estimated 16% of Sabah’s peak load demand through reliable and sustainable hydropower. Once operational, Project Oriole is expected to generate RM300mil in annual recurring revenue for the group..
