“He said Fire Country is what he really represents. ..
. He called me the next day and it showed how sincere he was.” “We worked on coming up with a character [for him] that we all thought would be interesting, unique and special,” Thieriot said.
“It tells some of the story about second chances and what he really represents. But [it] also feels different from who he is and how people see him day to day as a country singer.” Jelly Roll, real name Jason DeFord, will appear as Noah, a healthcare worker and former convict, in the April 11 episode titled Fire and Ice.

In the episode, Vince Leone (Burke) struggles to reconnect with his dad, while Noah becomes a key part of that emotional storyline. “Memories are complicated, but your boy got a second chance,” Jelly Roll’s character tells Vince in a teaser, as his new song Dreams Don’t Die plays.
The track will premiere during the episode, with Jelly Roll credited as Jason "Jelly Roll" DeFord for his acting debut. While he previously appeared as himself on shows like Tulsa King, Fire Country marks his first time playing a character. Noah’s backstory reflects Jelly Roll’s own past - a former convict who lost his mother while in prison and now works with families facing loss.
