Jason Kelce ’s unlikely duet with Stevie Nicks is finally here. Kelce, 37, teamed up with Nicks, 76, to sing “Maybe This Christmas” by Ron Sexsmith for the upcoming album A Philly Special Christmas Party . The song dropped on Friday, November 8.
Jason first teased his collaboration with Nicks last month via the official X page for his and brother Travis Kelce ’s “New Heights” podcast. “The crossover we didn’t know we needed,” he captioned a photo of himself dressed in a Christmas sweater and hugging Nicks. “Coming soon to a Christmas album near you 👀🎄.
” A Philly Special Christmas Party marks Kelce’s third holiday album with his former Philadelphia Eagles teammates Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata , a.k.a.
The Philly Specials. The athletes previously released A Philly Special Christmas and A Philly Special Christmas Special in 2022 and 2023, respectively. All proceeds from the collections of Christmas covers go to the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia.
Nicks may be a musical icon known both for her work as a solo artist and a member of the legendary band Fleetwood Mac, but Jason has some impressive experience of his own. The NFL alum, who played baritone saxophone in high school, joined the Philadelphia Orchestra for a performance at the Mann Center in 2018. He played “Fly, Eagles Fly” on the woodwind instrument at the event.
“I have always been involved in music, but it’s not something I’ve really gotten too much into,” Jason said during a 2018 interview for the Eagles’ official website , adding that the performance with the Philadelphia Orchestra was “something I certainly enjoyed doing.” Jason had a blast working with Nicks as well. “You have no idea how cool that just was,” he said after Nicks harmonized with him in behind-the-scenes footage of them recording their duet, shared via The Philly Specials’ official Instagram page.
Nicks then advised him to “sing exactly what you’re singing” so she could sing “a harmony right above you.” Jason held his own as Nicks added her own layer of vocals. “I never thought I’d ever in a million years be on a song with Stevie Nicks, so this is incredible,” he gushed in the clip.
Nicks then dubbed the cover “Jason’s ‘Landslide,’” referring to the 1975 certified gold song she penned and performed for Fleetwood Mac. Jason modestly replied, “There’s no way,” but Nicks insisted, “Yes, it is.” Jason also spoke about his experience working with Nicks during an October episode of “New Heights.
” “The legendary Stevie Nicks came on and did a duet with me, which in itself is pretty crazy to actually be on a track with Stevie Nicks. I mean, absolutely unreal,” he said. “[She’s] probably the most legendary female singer, especially of her generation .
.. [and so] the fact that I’m singing with her, this legend, is pretty unreal.
