Jason Day is setting his sights on a major comeback in 2025 after getting back in form over recent seasons . Once a top threat in the sport, ascending to number one in the Official World Golf Ranking in 2015 with his first and only major win at the PGA Championship , the Australian faced a tough period plagued by injuries and health scares, including vertigo attacks that saw him collapse during play. After enduring over five years without a victory from 2018-23, Day broke the dry spell at the AT&T Byron Nelson last year.

With four top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour and ninth at the Olympics, plus 21 additional tournaments played, the 37 year old believes he's returning to his peak and is eyeing big wins in 2025, including majors and the PGA Tour's high-stakes events. Justin Rose agrees with Rory McIlroy on Team USA Ryder Cup payments Sergio Garcia explains reasons for LIV Golf decision ahead of Ryder Cup boost Despite nearly a decade since his last major victory, Day remains focused on collecting the rest of the grand slam titles. "I feel good about my game," declared Day, expressing his ambitions for 2025 before a home crowd appearance Down Under: "A goal [for 2025] is to try and win a major and another goal is to win an elevated [PGA Tour] event.

" Day has his eyes set on a grand career goal and isn't shy about his confidence. He shared, "The goal for me has always been trying to win all four [majors]. I know I definitely have the game to win majors.

It's just being able to be healthy first and foremost, and then have the swing and the technique to back it up." He also boasted about his skills on the green, saying, "I know that on my day, I'm the best putter in the world and my short game is great. I just need the ball striking to match that.

If I can do that, then I definitely have a shot at winning more majors than just my first one." Day, who has spent much of his professional life in the US, is excited about his return to competitive play in Australia, his first since 2017, at this week's Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland Golf Club. He expressed a heartfelt desire to triumph on home soil, stating, "I've always wanted to win in Australia and I haven't won as a professional," and noted how he's seen other golf greats like Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy claim victories down under.

"I've seen Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy come down and win Australian Opens. It'd be nice for me to do that, especially in Brisbane, where I grew up playing some tournaments at Royal Queensland." For the opening rounds, Day is set to tee off in a star-studded group, playing alongside 2022 Open champion Cam Smith and the reigning Australian PGA champ Min Woo Lee.
