Japan's 'Baba Vanga' Predicts Mega Tsunami For July 2025 - How Real Is The Threat?

A Japanese woman known for her uncanny predictions has stirred global concern with her latest vision: a mega tsunami that she says will strike in July 2025. Ryo Tatsuki, often dubbed the "Baba Vanga of Japan," claims to have seen the catastrophe in a vivid dream—continuing a pattern of premonitions she has been documenting since the 1980s. In 1999, she published a manga titled The Future I Saw, which was based entirely on these dreams. The book has recently gained renewed interest online, as followers compare her earlier visions with past events. The vision, some believe, suggests an undersea volcanic eruption powerful enough to trigger a mega tsunami. She also described seeing dragon-like shapes moving toward the region—imagery that has since been linked by believers to visual patterns near Hawaii and other vulnerable coastlines.

While experts urge caution in interpreting such claims, they do acknowledge Japan's vulnerability to seismic events. Positioned on the Pacific Ring of Fire, the country is home to the Nankai Trough—an offshore region long identified by scientists as capable of producing a large earthquake and subsequent tsunami. Though there is "no scientific basis for Tatsuki's claims," seismologists note that "the location she describes isn't far-fetched from a geological standpoint".
