Janhvi Kapoor spoke Tamil for what seems to be the first time in public. The actress was in Chennai on Tuesday evening to promote her film, Devara. She joined Jr NTR and Anirudh Ravichander for a press conference in the city.
Before deep-diving into the questions about the film, Janhvi addressed the media in Tamil and thanked them for showering her late mother, Sridevi with love. “Chennai is very special to me. My best memories with my mom are from Chennai.
The love you’ve showered her is the reason me and my family are here. I will always be indebted to you for that. I hope you show me the same love,” she said in Tamil.
Jr NTR was visibly impressed with her. “I promise I will work very, very hard for it. Devara is very special to me.

For the unversed, Sridevi was raised in Chennai and did a few Tamil films as well before venturing into Bollywood. Despite her shift to Mumbai, Sridevi had a home in Chennai. A few members of her family continue to live in the city and Janhvi along with Boney Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor often visit them.
On the work front, Janhvi will be seen in Devara: Part 1. This marks her first Telugu film. Also starring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan, Devara will release on September 27.
