Jana Kramer believes that husband Allan Russell would give her his blessing to film an intimate scene if it was for the hit Max series The White Lotus . “There are some very sexual scenes in that show though. I think those are one of the roles where that moves needles,” the actress, 41, said on the Tuesday, April 15, episode of her “Whine Down” podcast.
“And that’s when we have the conversation that this is a huge opportunity and if I have to get naked, I’ll get naked for this one.” Kramer was joined by Russell, 44, for the podcast, who also weighed in on the hypothetical situation. At one point he asked if that would include being “totally naked.
” Kramer shared she wasn’t sure, but did not think that would be the case. “Honestly, they’re showing people’s d***s left and right in the show and I’m like, ’For what reason? Why?’ I just don’t see the point of it,” she said. “I will say this, the part that was funny — showing the penis was when Steve Zahn ’s character [did it.

When Kramer asked her husband if he would make an exception for her if she was offered a show like Yellowstone , Russell doubled down on his position. “I’ll be, like, phoning the producers and threatening the producers [like], ‘You need to change that scene. For the good of your health, you need to change this scene,’” he stated, adding that from his perspective — as someone outside the entertainment industry — he doesn’t think actors filming sex scenes is “healthy for any relationship.
” He continued: “That’s not good for a marriage, that type of role, it’s not, especially [for] a man who’s not in the acting world. It’s difficult. So, therefore, that’s my opinion based on [the fact that] I’m not in that world.
” After Russell’s stance made headlines, he clarified that it would have to be something he and Kramer discussed. “If the opportunity is good for your career, then it’s clearly a marital discussion,” he explained on an additional podcast episode in December 2024. “And listen, if you feel it’s good for your career, then I’m never gonna hold you back from doing something.
You know that.” Kramer broached the subject with Russell again, asking if he thought it would be “worth a conversation” if she was given the opportunity. “I don’t think you would shut this down,” she added. “I think I think this would be one of the roles that you’re not gonna like [it,] but you would be so excited for me.” Russell agreed, going on to admit that he knows how “hard” Kramer works all the time.
He teased that if she was on The White Lotus , they should also cast a Scottish guy. (Russell is a former professional soccer player from Scotland.).
