Jameson Williams stats Week 1: Detroit Lions WR has career-best game in 2024 debut

Few players on the Detroit Lions entered the 2024 campaign with more pressure on them than 2022 first-round pick and wide receiver Jameson Williams. Williams got off to a rough start to his career after not doing much over his first two seasons in the NFL. After missing most of his rookie season as he recovered from a torn ACL suffered in college, Williams got himself suspended to begin the 2023 season before he was mostly quiet after returning.

Putting more pressure on his shoulders, the Lions desperately needed Williams to step up in 2024 to replace the production lost by the departure of Josh Reynolds, who signed with the Denver Broncos in free agency. In the Lions' 26-20 Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Rams , Williams played just about as well as Detroit could've hoped. Let's see what he did on Sunday night.

Jameson Williams Stats Week 1 Williams led all Lions receiver with 121 yards, and he had a trio of big gains, with the third-year wideout reeling in receptions of 36, 52 and 28 yards, with the 52-yarder going for a touchdown. The Alabama product also got some work in the run game, taking one carry for 13 yards. His receiving yards and yards from scrimmage were both personal bests, and the touchdown was the fourth of his career.
