James Marsden has been added to the Your Friends & Neighbors season two ensemble. Following the season one premiere last Friday, Apple TV+ announced that Marsden will join season two of the drama series which is currently filming. And the news comes after the series was already renewed for a second season in November.
Its season one cast includes Jon Hamm , Amanda Peet, Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Mark Tallman, Lena Hall, Aimee Carrero, Eunice Bae, Isabel Gravitt and Donovan Colan. The official logline for season one reads: “After being fired in disgrace, Andrew ‘Coop’ Cooper (Hamm), a hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, resorts to stealing from the homes of his neighbors in the exceedingly affluent Westmont Village, only to discover that the secrets and affairs hidden behind those wealthy facades might be more dangerous than he ever imagined.” Marsden is set to be a series regular in season two.
He just starred in Hulu’s Paradise, opposite Sterling K. Brown. His other recent credits include Sonic The Hedgehog 3, Knox Goes Away and Dead to Me.
Coop is Hamm’s first lead role in an ongoing series since Mad Men ended a decade ago. Hamm also executive produces alongside Connie Tavel and Craig Gillespie. Jonathan Tropper, who created the series, also told The Hollywood Reporter , about how having Hamm as a producer helps with the show’s casting.
“He’s got a pretty good list of contacts in his phone, and any time we needed to get to someone, usually Jon knew them pretty well, and I wanted to cast Amanda Peet. I wanted to cast Olivia Munn,” he said. “I don’t think any of that happens if Hamm wasn’t producing the show with me.
” Your Friends & Neighbors season two will also be executive produced by Jamie Rosengard, Lori Keith Douglas — and Stephanie Laing, who will also direct. New episodes of Your Friends & Neighbors drop on Apple TV+ every Friday..
