The last ever episode of hit BBC sitcom Gavin & Stacey aired on Christmas Day last year and was watched by a whopping 19.1 million viewers. The 90-minute finale was the most watched TV programme on Christmas Day in 23 years.

The pair are set to release a new book called When Gavin Met Stacey And Everything In Between: A Story Of Love And Friendship. The book will discuss the origins of the sitcom, its success and its record-breaking Christmas special.
Transworld Publishers, part of Penguin Random House, previously teased that the book will “recount the rejection, obstacles and challenges they faced on the way to giving birth to their beloved comedy creation”. Top 10 best British TV series While Corden and Jones will also "explore the flourishing of their own real-life friendship" in the book. Corden and Jones will appear at the Hay Festival - which takes place in Hay-on-Wye, Powys - on Friday, May 23 where they will discuss their latest project and their 25-year friendship and working relationship.
Hay Festival global chief executive Julie Finch said: “We are delighted to welcome James Corden and Ruth Jones together on the Hay Festival 2025 programme for a joyful discussion about friendship, creativity and perseverance. “After dominating the TV schedule with the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, it feels like the perfect moment to hear them on the art of screenwriting, storytelling in collaboration, and Wales’ cultural impact.” Hay Festival will run from May 22 to June 1 in 2025 and will also feature the likes of Sir Stephen Fry, Paloma Faith, Michael Sheen and Succession writer Jesse Armstrong.
