Jake Paul and Mike Tyson squared off in the ring on Friday night, and while the fight had a ton of hype, it ended up being unable to deliver the goods. After going the distance, Paul prevailed over Tyson by unanimous decision, which wasn't much of a surprise considering how the bout unfolded. While many folks were excited to see Tyson return to boxing, it became clear pretty quickly that he was not up for the task of beating Paul.

Considering how he's 58 years old, and Paul is only 27, that shouldn't come as much of a surprise, but it ended up leading to a fairly disappointing fight. Paul was in control throughout, and it's clear he was not going his hardest on Tyson, as he recognized that he was going to beat him one way or another. While fans bemoaned the lack of action, they were also quick to praise Paul for not attempting to knock Tyson out when he was on his last leg in the later rounds.

Respect @jakepaul for not knocking Tyson out 🙏🏿 I respect Jake Paul for real for not beating up the OG for the way he could have. Mike wasn’t moving and Jake could have punished him for real. Salute 🫡 Respect to Jake Paul for not going for the knockout at the end.

It certainly was not easy for him to just get in shape for this match, let alone go eight rounds with Paul while taking a bit of a beating along the way, With Tyson struggling in the later rounds, Paul largely laid off him, letting the action go the distance so that fans could see Tyson in the ring for a few more minutes before he departed for the final time. Or at least, that's what everyone thought Tyson would do.

While Paul's boxing career appears to be on the rise, Tyson's might not be over just yet either. As a result, it will be worth keeping tabs on both of these guys and seeing what the future holds for them.
