Jada Pinkett Smith has opened up about her troubled childhood and how she turned to drug dealing as a way to 'survive' and how she was introduced to the world of drugs

star made a surprising confession about her past, admitting that she used to deal narcotics. During a pastepisode of Red Table Talk, the actress opened up to her mother Adrienne about her own heroin addiction during her childhood. In 2017, Pinkett Smith confessed that she was a drug dealer when she first met rapper Tupac Shakur.

She said on Sirius XM's Sway Universe: "When I first met [Tupac Shakur], when we first met, I was a drug dealer." Despite making this startling admission, the Girls Trip actress chose not to delve deeper into the topic, hinting that more details would be unveiled in her memoir. In a candid chat with People magazine, she revealed: "I knew that anything that I needed was something I needed to provide for.



I decided to sell drugs. Growing up, the drug dealers were the ones that had affluence." Jada saw this as a path to success, especially considering her difficult circumstances.

She claimed her mother was a "high-functioning heroin addict" who was "not doing well", leading to a lack of care for their home and her needs. Despite trying to work "legit jobs" from the age of 12, including a stint at Gap, she ended up selling crack cocaine. Throughout the interview with People, she continued to share insights into her troubled childhood, saying: "When you aren't the priority of your parents, you don't know how to be a priority to yourself.

I had parents who were addicted to heroin." During her appearance on Red Table Talk, Jada made a shocking revelation: "I think I didn't find out my mother was addicted to heroin until I was in my teens. I could tell when my mother was high.

She couldn't make it on time to pick me up from school, or [she was] nodding off, falling asleep in the middle of something. You just realise: 'Oh, that's not being tired. That is like, a drug problem.

'" Adrienne has been clean since the 1990s and has expressed remorse for the "emotional and spiritual damage" she inflicted on both of them, which Adrienne admitted was "devastating"..
