Jacqueline Chadwick has revealed that she was not asked back to Emmerdale to reprise the role of Tina Dingle after fans got in touch with her following the character’s on-screen return. Tina, who was last in the ITV soap in 1996, made an unexpected comeback on Thursday (October 17) during the funeral of estranged dad Zak Dingle, with actress Samantha Power stepping in to the role. Previously, the character had been portrayed by Jacqueline Pirie (now Chadwick) between 1994 and 1996.

Following her departure from the Dales, Jacqueline went on to star as Linda Sykes in Coronation Street from 1998 to 2001. Afterwards, she moved to Canada and became an author. Jacquline still lives in Victoria, Canada, and has written multiple crime novels, centred around a character called Ali Dalglish, an ex-forensic psychologist turned housewife, who finds herself involved in murder cases.
