Jacob Markstrom, Devils shut out Penguins after another slow start

The Devils beat the Penguins 3-0 on Saturday night.

NEWARK — Devils goalie Jacob Markstrom took on two of the best scorers of all-time one-on-one to make sure his team didn’t fall behind to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night at the Prudential Center. In the second period of a scoreless game, Markstrom reached with the tip of his glove to tip the puck away from the net, preventing Penguins captain Sidney Crosby an easy goal. Instead, the puck banged off the post.
