Queen of Versailles star Jackie Siegel is now grieving the loss of two loved ones as she has confirmed the tragic news that her sister has died from an accidental drug overdose . The 59-year-old socialite confirmed the heartbreaking news of her sister Jessica Mallery's death to TMZ , revealing she passed away on April 7 after overdosing on cocaine laced with fentanyl. The former beauty pageant director said that she was "shattered" when she discovered the news "to a scourge we as a family know all too well - accidental drug overdose.
" This comes as Jackie's 18-year-old daughter Victoria also died from an accidental drug overdose on June 6, 2015. The young teen passed away after taking a combination of drugs inside her parent's home in Orlando, Florida . According to her diary, she died after taking a combination of Adderall, ADD medication, and cocaine then other unnamed pills to "come down.
" After sharing the saddening family update, Jackie urged that her sister's death should be used to bring attention towards a larger drug epidemic the U.S. is currently facing.
She told the news outlet that her sister's death "is another stark reminder of the drug epidemic and fentanyl crisis plaguing our country – and the urgent need to address substance abuse in order to save lives." The news of Jessica's passing comes just three days after the reality star's husband David Siegel died at the age of 89 years old. The businessman and President of Westgate Resorts passed away following a battle with cancer.
The model shared the news with a heartfelt Instagram post dedicated to her other half. Along with a beautiful photo from their wedding day, she penned, "I was lucky enough to share twenty-five wonderful years with David, and together we raised eight incredible children." The New York-native continued, "To say we are devastated is an understatement.
But I find comfort in knowing that Victoria was there to greet him— the first thing he heard was 'Dad,' followed by a big hug. And of course, Steven is there too." Jackie concluded the loving tribute, "That thought brings me so much peace.
I know you all loved him too, which is why I wanted to share this with you. Thank you for your love and support during this difficult time. It means the world to us.
Life is a precious gift from God — and my husband has found his peace with Him."
