Latest Liverpool news and gossip as Curtis Jones impresses on his senior international debut for England against Greece in the Nations League Manchester City's Jack Grealish has sent a message to Curtis Jones after the Liverpool star shone on his senior international debut. Thursday night saw England record a 3-0 win away at Greece in the Nations League. Jones was handed a start by interim manager Lee Carsley at the Olympic Stadium in Athens for what was the first senior cap of his international career.

The Liverpool midfielder played the full 90 minutes and scored the third and final goal of the evening to secure the victory for the Three Lions. Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins opened the scoring for England against Greece, with an own goal from goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos doubling the away side's lead before Jones found the back of the net in the closing moments. The Three Lions will now look ahead to their final Nations League group fixture against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday evening.

Following England's win over Greece, Grealish posted a message on his Instagram story. The Man City star, who was withdrawn from the Three Lions squad days before the trip to Athens, used his message to praise the performance from Jones. "Well done boys," wrote Grealish on Instagram.

"Top performance and especially Curtis Jones, what a player [clapping hands emoji] [blue heart emoji]". This season has seen Jones play a key role in helping Liverpool climb to the top of both the Premier League and the Champions League . New head coach Arne Slot has handed Jones 13 appearances in all competitions, including six starts over the last eight matches in all competitions.

Jones has been a regular figure in the Liverpool midfield over the last few weeks, with Slot preferring to start the Kirkby academy graduate alongside Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. The Reds midfielder will hope to earn another start for England on Sunday in the final match of the November international break before returning to Merseyside next week..
