Some Gers fans are even calling for the former favourite to be sold in the summer . Ibrox legend Ally McCoist has had his say on the Butland issue, telling the Daily Record his mixed feelings on whether Barry Ferguson should be starting the Englishman. McCoist said: "This is a real balancing act because if you take him out of the team, you could finish him.

"Not being privy to sitting down and having a chat with him and seeing where he is, that would have a massive bearing on playing him or not. "You need to see where his head is, see how he's feeling, and then you make a decision.
" McCoist also acknowledged that there is plenty of work for Gers to do in the transfer market, and that Butland WOULDN'T be near the top of his list of players to replace. "I'm contradicting myself - the goalkeeper is a priority position because it's one of the most important positions on the pitch, if not THE most important, but you understand the point I'm trying to make.
