One of the most anticipated releases of the year, the film is performing well ever since its opening days and sees no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Such is the response that the film even crossed Rs 50 crore mark within six days of its release, storming the box office with strong Tuesday collections. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Jaat raked in an estimated Rs 6 crore net in India on the sixth day of its release, which makes it a total of Rs 53.

Looking at the collections, the film is now expected to touch the Rs 100 crore mark in a few days. As per the data, the action thriller opened with a roaring Rs 9.5 crore net on April 10 and witnessed a dip on Friday with Rs 7 crore.

Then came the weekend which meant a solid boost for the film, earning Rs 9.75 crore and Rs 14 crore on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. On Monday, Jaat witnessed a 48% dip in the occupancy rate but still managed to rake in Rs 7.

About its storyline, the film follows Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh, fondly referred to as “Jaat," who finds himself pitted against Ranatunga, also known as Muthuvel Karikalan—a former Deputy Commander of the Jaffna Tiger Force while en route from Chennai to Ayodhya by train. As Jaat is forced to spend some time at a small village near Chirala, ruled by Ranatunga, he takes it upon himself to fight against the fear and suffering caused by the oppressive regime, which further sets the tone for a gripping showdown between the brigadier and the ruthless warlord.

Next up, Sunny Deol will be seen in Lahore 1947, which marks the return of Preity Zinta on the big screen after years of hiatus. In a strong slate, the actor also has Border 2 lined up, currently under filming. Apart from Sunny Deol, the film also features Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty among others.
