Even with his team trailing late in the fourth quarter, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant couldn't help but point finger guns in the direction of the Golden State Warriors ' bench. Draymond Green immediately clocked Morant and motioned for the ref to give him a technical foul. Warriors guard Buddy Hield seemingly took offense, emerging from the bench with vigor in the direction of the Grizzlies star.

Morant's actions - already towing the line considering his previous history of brandishing guns when he's not supposed to - were for naught. Steph Curry poured in 52 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists to lead Golden State to a comfortable 134-125 win, leaving his teammate Quentin Post awestruck during his pre-halftime ESPN interview . Morant played well, scoring 36 points (his second-highest tally of the season) on 14/22 shooting in his 33 minutes.

However, it was certainly questionable that the two-time All-Star chose to celebrate with his team trailing by eight late in the third quarter, especially against the rival. The Warriors and the Grizzlies played a fiercely contested six-game series in the 2022 Western Conference semifinals (Morant missed the final few games with an injury). Golden State triumphed en route to the team's fourth championship in eight seasons.
