This Morning host Sian Welby was forced to apologise just minutes into the show after she'd walked away from the camera

This Morning's Siân Welby had to say sorry just moments into Wednesday's programme. The 38-year-old presenter, who is filling in on the ITV daytime show alongside Dermot O'Leary while regulars Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard are away during Easter, found herself needing to apologise after she was caught with her phone during the live broadcast. As the show began on April 9, Siân and Dermot were previewing the day's content when the Capital Radio personality stepped back from the camera and was later seen holding her phone.

"Sorry, I wasn't being unprofessional here," Siân quickly clarified, as Dermot playfully ribbed her, remarking: "Well it looks like you were being unprofessional." He continued, pointing out: "Your phone was on the studio floor," to which Siân retorted: "No I wasn't," and quipped: "You know what I'm like, I just want to check my Instagram to see how it's going," reports Wales . Siân then revealed the real reason for the on-air distraction: "No.

Look at my phone screen here so basically, can you see these dots?" Upon realising she was addressing the wrong camera, she swiftly apologised once more. Correctly facing the intended camera, she explained: "Ohh sorry, look at the dots on the screen, these can apparently eliminate car sickness, i'm not too sure how they work but I know who does know, Alice Beer, you're going to tell us more." Later in the show, Siân expressed hope that this little-unknown trick could be a game-changer for the millions who struggle with travel sickness on long journeys.

Consumer expert Alice Beer reappeared on the show to demystify how the dot screensaver can help with motion sickness and also to reveal more mobile phone tips that viewers might not be aware of. Discussing the innovative screensaver, she clarified: "The motion sickness is our eyes saying 'you're not moving' but your inner ear saying 'I'm moving around' which causes the sick feeling." Brandishing her mobile to the camera, Alice continued: "The dots down the side of the screen show both your ears and eyes that you are moving so that you know you are in motion and won't get sick.

" Alice illustrated to the audience how to programme their phones with this clever hack to detect when they are travelling in a vehicle. She concluded with enthusiasm: "If you take nothing else home from today, then take nothing else, I have changed your life, my job here is done." This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1, from 10am.
