This Morning's Siân Welby had to issue an apology shortly after Wednesday's show began. The 38 year old host is stepping in for ITV's daytime programme alongside Dermot O'Leary while regulars Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard take time off during the Easter period, found herself saying sorry after she was spotted tinkering with her phone on live TV. As the broadcast kicked off on April 9, Siân and Dermot were teasing the day's segments when the Capital Radio star accidentally stepped back from the camera, only to be later seen grasping her mobile device.
"Sorry, I wasn't being unprofessional here," Siân hurriedly explained, as her co-host Dermot cheekily chided her: "Well it looks like you were being unprofessional." He highlighted her mishap, noting: "Your phone was on the studio floor," to which Siân swiftly replied: "No I wasn't," and made a light-hearted comment: "You know what I'm like, I just want to check my Instagram to see how it's going." Look at my phone screen here so basically, can you see these dots?" Noticing she was directing her explanation towards the incorrect camera, she quickly offered another apology. Directing her attention towards the right camera, she elaborated: "Ohh sorry, look at the dots on the screen, these can apparently eliminate car sickness, i'm not too sure how they work but I know who does know, Alice Beer, you're going to tell us more," reports the Express . Later in the programme, Siân expressed optimism that this little-known tip could revolutionise the experience for the millions who suffer from travel sickness during lengthy trips.
Consumer expert Alice Beer returned to the show to clear up how a dot screensaver could aid those with motion sickness while also sharing some mobile phone tricks that might be new to viewers. In reference to the cutting-edge screensaver, she explained: "The motion sickness is our eyes saying 'you're not moving' but your inner ear saying 'I'm moving around' which causes the sick feeling." Waving her smartphone at the camera, Alice added: "The dots down the side of the screen show both your ears and eyes that you are moving so that you know you are in motion and won't get sick.
" Alice demonstrated to viewers how they can set up their phones with this nifty hack to recognise when they are on the move in a vehicle. Wrapping up with excitement, she proclaimed: "If you take nothing else home from today, then take nothing else, I have changed your life, my job here is done.".
