On This Morning today, Cat Deeley was forced to apologise to Dermot O'Leary. The show had a unique start today as the hosts presented from outside the studio for a special food festival. They were joined by Big Brother host Will Best for this special event, which aimed to highlight some of the best food trucks in the UK.
Social media star SpudMan was there to serve jacket potatoes, while a gravy truck as well as trucks providing waffles and other sweet delights. Dressed in their coats, Dermot and Cat welcomed viewers to the outdoor show. However, early into the programme, Cat had to apologise to Ben as she revealed their plans for the rest of the show.
Interrupting his espresso martini, she said: "Well, I'm sorry, but we have to go back into the studio now." Dermot pretended to be disappointed, responding with, "Ugh, fine." The duo then headed inside, leaving Will outside to continue sampling the food and promoting the small businesses that had come to showcase their culinary creations, reports the Mirror .
Currently, Dermot is filling in for regular host Ben Shephard , who usually presents alongside Cat. Ben is presently filming a new ITV show called The Summit and is expected to return to the airwaves in the next few weeks. Alison Hammond has also been substituting for Ben, co-hosting two shows with Cat last week, while Dermot covered the other.
Both Alison and Dermot resumed their usual Friday hosting duties last week. A couple of weeks ago, Ben made an announcement that set tongues wagging about his TV commitments. At the close of a show episode, he shared, "I have some news to share.
I'm taking a couple of weeks away to go and work on this exciting project for ITV. It's top secret. I'm going to the other side of the world now after the show.
I can't say where it is though." Subsequently, he divulged he wasn't headed for I'm A Celebrity thrills but was instead off to New Zealand for ITV's The Summit, explaining, "I'm not in the jungle! I've gone a bit further south, I'm in New Zealand. We are hosting this brand new show for ITV called The Summit.
I'm going to be guiding them up there, I'm going to be checking in with them at nights and talking them through what stages of the challenges they're in. Hopefully, I'll be there when some of them reach the summit. They're carrying the winnings with them all the way up, so what makes it up there is shared with those who actually get there, too.
" *This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 10am..
