Alison Hammond was moved to tell a caller she was "breaking her heart" during an emotional conversation on This Morning today. Alison, alongside her co-host Dermot O'Leary, returned to helm a fresh instalment of the ITV mid-morning programme, where they were dishing out the top Black Friday bargains. The duo was eager to boost someone's festive budget with their regular Spin to Win game.

The segment took a heartfelt turn when Alison and Dermot reached out to a viewer named Kirsty. In a rare moment, the first person to answer the phone recited the correct passphrase, earning the opportunity to spin for a cash prize in time for Christmas . Kirsty was visibly moved as she spoke with Alison and Dermot, confessing she had never imagined she'd make it on air to try her luck at the wheel.

Choked up, she revealed it was her birthday and that winning any prize would be a dream come true. Tears flowed as she expressed her disbelief at not only receiving the call but also winning on her special day.

The presenters, touched by the moment, told Kirsty she was "breaking their hearts." When they checked if she was still on the line, an ecstatic Kirsty exclaimed, "Oh my god!" before dissolving into tears, gratefully saying: "Thank you so much. I don't know what to do with the money, this never happens to me.

" Alison exclaimed: "You've got the jackpot darling! You're breaking my heart. I'm so happy for you. I hope these are happy tears," to which Kirsty responded through her emotions: "Yes they're happy tears! I'm here with my two daughters - and it's the best birthday present ever.

Post-interview, the presenters took a moment to reminisce about the heartfelt exchange, delighted at having made a difference to someone's day. They then proceeded to speak to Prue Leith, who had come on the show to celebrate the latest The Great British Bake Off champion and share some kitchen wisdom.

However, Leith's demo hit a snag on air as she attempted to teach Alison and Dermot an avocado slicing trick using a wire cooling rack, which unfortunately failed due to the fruit's under-ripeness, leaving the hack unsuccessful on live TV. *This Morning airs at 10am every weekday on ITV1 and ITVX..
