On Thursday's instalment of This Morning, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley spoke to season one My Mum, Your Dad star Paul and his daughter Mazey. The contestant was a huge hit with fans of the ITV show last year as he struck up a romance with single mum Natalie. However, it looks as though their spark fizzled out as he's set to return to the mansion once again.

Speaking about his experience with Natalie in the house last year, Paul confessed they had a great connection initially. He said: "In the house, it's kind of like a holiday. You've got no real life.

So, when we come out we had a good few months but we just unfortunately weren't compatible. We had a good nice few months together though." Questioning why he's decided to return to the ITV dating show, Cat asked if he's hopeful this second time around.

The ITV star replied confessed he doesn't want to close the door on any opportunity because you never know what will happen. Wondering how they felt when the bosses rang to ask if they'd come back, Mazey replied: "I was like 100%!" She admitted her dad was extremely quiet in the first few weeks of season one and wasn't himself before starting to open up towards the end. Mazey added: "The workshops were amazing as well, so I thought that would be good to go back for.

" Speaking about going back, Paul confessed he felt extremely different. He said: "I went in there and this time around I was completely myself. It was almost like walking into my home, getting my slippers on, getting the cigar out, it just felt so comfortable.

"Whereas in season one, I went in and I didn't know what to expect and I closed up. I saw the cameras and it was just very daunting." Ben was curious if Paul was able to help the cast of this year's season, having already experienced it once beforehand.

He confessed the single parents confided in him because they were all nervous: "My shoulder was there for them. I was like, I felt exactly the same last year just give it a few days and relax then it'll make it a lot easier. I formed a friendship with them a lot quicker as well, for that reason.

" Although things didn't work out between Paul and Natalie, he seems to have an eye on someone in the mansion. Not wanting to give much away, he teases a connection with Steph. He said: "She is a very interesting lady, when she's in a room she kind of owns the room and I think everyone appreciates that, she's a very nice lady.

" My Mum, Your Dad is available to watch on ITVX. This Morning continues weekdays on ITV from 10am..
