Coronation Street star Alan Halsall took a lighthearted jab at I'm a Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec during the show's first episode. The popular programme, which features celebrities tackling demanding Bushtucker Trials in the Australian jungle, has returned with Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly as hosts. This year's contestants aim to take the jungle crown from 2023 winner Sam Thompson .

Just minutes into the first episode, Tulisa, Oti Mabuse, Jane Moore, Danny Jones, and Dean McCullough participated in a stomach-churning drink task before skydiving from a helicopter. After landing, they met their fellow campmates: GK Barry, Coleen Rooney , Melvin Odoom, Alan Halsall , and Jane Moore. Half of the celebrities made their entrance by skydiving onto the beach to meet the remaining cast members before racing to the campsite.

Before being selected by Tulisa and winning the first challenge, Alan made a cheeky comment about Ant and Dec's height. "I mean they are only small they could be about," he joked, to which Melvin replied: "They're about my height to be fair". In a surprising twist, Alan revealed his biggest fear in the jungle isn't creepy crawlies or heights - it's bacon and fish.

Tensions may be simmering beneath the surface in the I'm A Celebrity...

Get Me Out Of Here! camp, as a feud appears to be on the horizon between 25 year old social media influencer GK Barry and broadcaster Dean McCullough, 32. In a candid chat with MailOnline, Dean positioned himself as a "glass half full kind of guy" who has little patience for those who just want to "put their feet up". Contrastingly, GK embraced her "glass half empty kind of girl" persona, viewing her time on the show as a chance to "relax in a hammock for a couple of weeks", even acknowledging, "I won't bring much to the camp, or clean much.

" Dean didn't mince words when he cautioned the other contestants, remarking, "There could be a few people on that lineup who think, 'I'm just going to sit this one out, I'm not going to do the washing up' but yes they are."
